This list will grow as time goes by, but here’s a few to start off:
American Motorcycle Association (AMA)
Headquartered in Pickerinton, Ohio, the AMA focuses on pursuing, protecting, and promoting the rights of motorcycle riders. As they state on their home page, they’re about rights, riding, and racing.
Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF)
Developer of the comprehensive research-based Rider Training Program, the MSF participates in government realations, safety research, public awareness programs, and provides technical assistance to state training and licensing programs.
If you need help with riding problems, a supportive friend or mentor, information on everything to do with riding (inclines, gravel, jitters, etc.), sources for parts, books, apparel, bike reviews from female riders, and just about anything you can think of, this is the site. It’s free to read or write in. It’s geared to the female rider, but men are welcome too!
This site provides listings of motorcycle events. Whether you’re looking for a rally, charity event, or bike show, this is the site. It can be very helpful when planning trips in that you can get dates, locations, and other information well ahead of time. In some cases, as with the Cycle World International Motorcycle Shows, often e-tickets can be purchased ahead of time. Once paid for, you are provided a link to view and print your tickets.

Useful tips and interesting information for the do-it-yourself mechanic, from a man who has been a motorcycle mechanic since 1967 and runs a repair shop in northern Idaho. This particluar link takes you to Dan’s index page. Dan is rather outspoken when it comes to policitics, and his site is a bit primitive, but he shares some good mechanical information. And it’s free.
